Fortifying the Look of Privacy
Privacy Matters is a corporate digital privacy and security initiative aimed at employees. I was approached to create a logo that captured the essence of their mission while still being iconic enough for digital promotion and social branding.
Cracking the Code
I explored incorporating several security symbols in my initial sketches. Eventually, I added the keyhole symbol into the word so that we could use the icon and wordmark together or separately. The shared component between the two parts allows for greater flexibility in the system.
The icon combines the idea of a castle, a shield, and a lock. While the wordmark hides a keyhole in place of the “i”.
We used the final logo as the primary marketing and branding piece for a company-wide digital security course. I chose corporate colours for the logotype so that employees knew that the course was a corporate initiative. The bold, san serif font communicates a friendly yet corporate tone.
Every journey begins with the first step.
